Vidyashilp Academy is accredited by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (ICSE) and the University of Cambridge International Examinations for the international General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE, AS and A-Level) course as a registered Cambridge International Centre.
The School has its own in-house developed project-based curriculum until Grade 7 in Phase 1, post which the students choose between IGCSE or ICSE curriculum for secondary schooling in Phase 2, from Grade 8 to 12.
In recognition of valuable contribution to the study of innovation in the field of education, Vidyashilp Academy was selected as ATL of the month (December 2019) by Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog. VSA holds one of the top five places in the state and is the only school selected from the city.
The Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) set up by NITI Aayog for transforming the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in the country. A key initiative of AIM is to establish a network of Atal Tinkering Laboratories (ATL) with the objective of creating scientific temper as well as cultivating the spirit of curiosity and creativity among young minds. Students participate with enthusiasm utilizing the Atal Tinkering Lab as the platform for mastering their innovation skills. The Management and ATL Mentors strive hard to inculcate the spirit of innovation among students of Vidyashilp Academy and neighboring schools.
The collaboration with IISc Institute through Atal Tinkering Labs, places equal emphasis on student learning aimed at encouraging bright young students to pursue learning in the basic sciences.
Atal Innovation Mission is India’s grand initiative to promote innovation and entrepreneurship of which, Atal Tinkering Labs is one such program. It was established to provide the world-class facility at the school level by setting up state of the art Atal Tinkering Labs (ATL) in schools, where students get hands-on experience with Robotics, IoT and other miniaturized electronics, globally used in most modern devices.

Girl Up (founded in 2010) is a campaign of the United Nations Foundation, dedicated to securing equal opportunities for underprivileged adolescent girls in developing countries such as Ethiopia, Malawi, Guatemala, and India. Vidyashilp Academy is one of the few schools in Bangalore to be recognized as a ‘Girl Up’ school. This is a student-led initiative at VSA, to empower community building, particularly up uplifting underprivileged girls.
